You probably know it – first dates are often a mess of awkward things happening between both of you. Not only you have to interest your date, but you also have to pay attention to what you’re actually saying, so that it will not sound rude or offending. And what’s more, since the majority of first dates are based around some kind of food, you must concern what you shall order to eat and what you shouldn’t, so that your date will not end in a catastrophe. But we’re going to help you. Here’s a list of top-8 plates you better avoid on your first date:
1. Any food that contains spinach, basil or some other leafy greens
You’re right, leafy greens will make you healthier and stronger, but unfortunately they can also spoil your date. You won’t notice it, but your partner will remember the flecks of green stuck between your teeth for a long time. Don’t forget – you’re not Popeye the Sailor. At least at a date.
2. Any spicy food
Try to avoid any Indian, Mexican, Thai food and other kinds of food that are spicy. The reason is simple – your nose will drip and your partner will have to see this unpleasant picture of you sucking up snots while eating this ‘tasty’ food. We’re hoping that you came to a date to get closer with your partner, not only for the process of eating. And your date thinks the same way.
3. Hamburgers and Hot dogs
You’d better stay away from all these things – hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs etc. It’s a really easy task to soil yourself with sauce and ketchup which covers this food in huge amounts. If you want to look handsome, this will be a great failure. So, better don’t try your luck. Also, this kind of food isn’t a healthy one and it’s important as well.
4. Spaghetti
Note: this tip won’t follow if you were born in Italy or have lived there for quite a long time. For those of you who don’t fall into any of the patterns above, spaghetti can harm your date because it’s a really complicated task to eat it gracefully (we’re not even mentioning, that you also can cover your clothes with drops of sauce while eating, which is also not a great thing to have on your first date). So, if you want to order something Italian on your date, stick to Italian wine or Lasagna at least.
Four more to come!
